Andreas B. Schwarz-year 2012/13

Namesake

 

The students of the third year began their studies at the University of Cologne in the winter semester 2012/2013. The third year is named after Professor Dr Andreas B. Schwarz, who emigrated to Turkey in 1933 and taught there from 1934 until his death in 1953 at the University of Istanbul as professor and chairman of Roman law, civil law and comparative law. He rendered outstanding services in particular to the introduction and explanation of legal concepts from Roman law into Turkish law.
