The National Law School of India University (short: NLSIU) is a university in Bengalore.

Bengalore is located in the southwest of the Indian subcontinent and is after Mumbai and Delhi with 8.4 million inhabitants, the third largest city in India. Due to the strong economic power, a large western-influenced consumer offer has developed. The campus of the university is located just outside the city center in a park-like area. On-site there is the possibility to live in one of the dormitories and use the university's own sports facilities.

Founded only in 1986, NLSIU is the first national law school in India. When the university was founded, it was determined that the Chief Justice of India appointed the principal of the school, which underlines the unique position of NLSIU in the Indian legal system. The NLSIU ranks first in all relevant Indian rankings.

For the recruitment test at the NLSIU regularly more than 40,000 people apply for just 55 places. All in all, only 500 undergraduate and graduate students study at NLSIU

"Participation in the exchange with the NLSIU is not only an academic enrichment. India is also a very exciting and fascinating country in cultural terms. At the Law School you meet a lot of people who testify that India is on the rise. You can really learn something from the students at NLSIU. "
